RECYCLING
The Town of
Saturday,
Newspapers, magazines, catalogues, junk mail,
phone books, paperboard such as cereal boxes, juice boxes, and white/colored
paper should be placed in a paper (not plastic) bag. Junk mail with window envelopes, staples, and
paper clips is acceptable for recycling.
Corrugated cardboard must be reduced to 2 ft by
2 ft pieces (or smaller) and may also be taken to the recycling center. All cardboard must be flattened. Food contaminated paper, such as pizza boxes,
are not recyclable.
Glass bottles and jars are collected; please
remove lids and cork – no need to remove neck rings. Other glass, such as dishes, Pyrex, light bulbs,
windows/auto glass, ceramics, mirrors, drinking glasses, or broken glass are
not acceptable.
Tin, steel and aluminum cans must be rinsed
clean. No aluminum foil, aerosol cans,
paint cans, coat hangers, or hazardous containers are allowed.
Milk and juice cartons must be rinsed clean with
straws removed. Plastic containers with
a #1-7 recycling symbol are accepted.
This includes clear #1 PETE plastic (e.g. vegetable oil & some
liquid soap bottles), clear #2 HDPE plastic (e.g. milk & water jugs), and
colored #2 HDPE plastic (e.g. soap, detergent and shampoo bottles).

TAXES
Real Estate Taxes are sent out by October 1 (due
November 1) and April 1 (due by May 1) by the Town Treasurer. The tax year is July 1st through June 30th
with payments due on February 1st, May 1st, August 1st,
and November 1st.
Motor Vehicle Excise bills are sent out once a
year however the time of year varies with each owner.
